Sleeve gastrectomy staple line leakage

Presentation

Upper abdominal pain and tenderness with low grade fever, two months following gastric sleeve operation.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Multiple extraluminal pockets of air are seen adjacent to the gastric pouch staple line. This is associated with prominent perigastric fat stranding and small fluid collection measuring 3.6 cm x 1.8 cm representing abscess.
