Presentation
Increasing focal swelling of the index finger with pain.
Patient Data
Well defined lobulated abnormal signal ( low on T1/T2 and high on PD fs ) soft tissue mass lesion measuring about 12*15 mm is abutting the ventrolateral aspect of the flexor tendon sheath of the index finger proximal phalanx causing to focal contour bulge.
No intra-osseous extension of the mass is seen.
Case Discussion
Tenosynovial giant cell tumors are usually benign lesions that arise from the tendon sheath. On imaging, these lesions are commonly demonstrated as localized, solitary, subcutaneous soft tissue nodules, with low T1 and T2 signal and moderate enhancement. Palmar fibromatosis also is in the differential diagnosis of the mentioned mass.
