Transient hip osteoporosis

Abnormal signal intensity involving the left femoral head and neck displays low T1 and bright T2fs signal with no structural collapse or subchondral fracture. Mild joint effusion is noted.
Edema and fluid signal along with the obturator externus muscle is seen.
Case Discussion
MRI findings are consistent with left-sided transient hip osteoporosis.
