Presentation

Case of bilateral inguinal hernias. An incidental finding.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

'Single' large left kidney with normal echopattern without backpressure/ calculus/ mass lesion. A notch is present involving the left kidney. There is no kidney in the right renal fossa/ right lumbar region. The normal location of bilateral ureteric jets.

Bilateral inguinal hernias pass deep to the inferior epigastric vessels. The rest of the abdominal examination was normal.

Case Discussion

An adult presented for an ultrasound for the first time in his life. Bilateral direct inguinal hernias. Incidental finding of left crossed fused renal ectopia.
