Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty prosthesis is well positioned. No complication evident. Osteotomy of the undersurface of the lateral clavicle noted.

Case Discussion

A distal clavicular osteotomy performed during complex total shoulder arthroplasty is a surgical technique employed to:

  • increase the exposure area and provide safer dissection

  • reduce anterior deltoid muscle injury

  • improve glenoid access
