Glass foreign body in thumb

Presentation

Injury to left thumb about 4 days ago. Complaining of local pain.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

There is an echogenic focus (3 x 1 mm) in the thumb pulp consistent with a foreign body. It is just deep to skin.  There is tiny fluid cleft in pulp around the foreign body. There is local hypervascularity. Distal interphalangeal joint is normal. Flexor tendon is normal.

Ultrasound findings of a glass particle in the thumb pulp, and it was removed surgically.
