Increased retrocardiac density with air bronchogram and partial obscuration of the lower descending aortic contour. Normal left heart border.
The lateral view shows increased density over the lower thoracic vertebral bodies, with an air bronchogram and obscuration of the posterior left hemidiaphragm.
Case Discussion
Findings in keeping with left lower lobe consolidation.
Low-risk community-acquired pneumonia was diagnosed (FINE I, CURB 65 0). The patient was discharged with antibiotic treatment and progressed favourably.
