Meningioma - temporal

Presentation

Chronic headaches in a diabetic and hypertensive patient.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female
mri

Well-defined broad-based extra-axial left temporal mass. It displays an isosignal to the cortical grey matter on T1, slightly high signal on T2 and FLAIR with vivid homogeneous enhancement with a "dural tail sign". No calcification or hemorrhagic component is seen on the GE sequence. A "CSF cleft sign" around the mass is noted on the coronal T2 sequence indicating its extra-axial location. No surrounding vasogenic edema or significant mass effect on the midline structures.

Cerebral volume loss with small vessel ischemic change is noted.
