A large midline cystic structure is seen dorsal to the lower back and sacral region, with a tethered spinal cord that is seen projecting into cyst fluid with thin threads of radiating neural structures inside the cyst. Rest os the study is normal.
Case Discussion
An antenatal ultrasound showing a congenital cystic lesion with typical features of myelomeningocele with a tethered cord. Most newborns with myelomeningocele have an associated Chiari II malformation.
