Atypical femoral fracture

Discussion:

The female patient presented in this case was under treatment for osteoporosis and had been intaking bisphosphonate for 5 years. There was no history of trauma or bone diseases. By the time of the bisphosphonate-related proximal femoral fracture diagnosis, the bisphosphonate was discontinued. Clinical history and x-ray characteristic combined gather important and sufficient aspects for the diagnosis of an atypical femoral fracture 1,2.
