Case authorship

Last revised by Patrick O'Shea on 31 Oct 2024

Case authorship is, by default, the user who uploaded the case. Each case can only belong to one user's account.

Co-authors

If a case is being submitted with a co-author, this can be acknowledged in a new paragraph at the end of the case discussion section.

For a single co-author, use the following style:

Case co-author: Prof Elizabeth Flower, Royal City Hospital, Australia.

For multiple co-authors, include each on a bulleted list. For example:

Case co-authors:

  • Prof Elizabeth Flower, Royal City Hospital, Australia.

  • Dr Robin Nest, Inner City Hospital, Canada.

Acknowledgement

The same format should be used to acknowledge a specific contribution, for example, pathology or intraoperative photos, but state the contribution. For example:

Pathology courtesy of A/Prof Charlotte Boing, Royal City Hospital, Armenia.

or

Intraoperative photos courtesy of:

  • Dr Chris Chest, Inner City Hospital, India.

  • Dr Adrienne Humble, Outer Regional Clinic, USA.
