Cystic dilatation of the seminal vesicles

Last revised by Tariq Walizai on 21 Aug 2024

Cystic dilatation of the seminal vesicles refers to dilatation to one or both seminal vesicles often occurring as a result of a downstream obstruction (atresia of the ejaculatory ducts or ectopic ureteral insertion into the seminal vesicles). On imaging it is seen as continuous dilatation to one or both seminal vesicles as opposed to a single seminal vesicle cyst.
