Body was changed:

Foreign bodies (FBs) can voluntarily or involuntarily be inserted into natural and unnatural cavities. This page contains a collection of various foreign bodies in different locations:

  1. Rectal foreign bodies are frequently encountered in everyday practice, and imaging is sometimes requested for surgical planning. Rectal perforation is a potential complication.
  2. Usually coins visualized in sagittal plane (acquired while entering through vocal cords) on anteroposterior radiographs are in the trachea, whereas coins in the oesophagus will have a coronal orientation on anteroposterior chest radiographs.
  3. Glass foreign bodies should always be seen on plain films if they are greater than 1-2mm in size.
  4. Drug packets can also be intentionally swallowed or inserted into various body orifices.
  5. Ingested bones are a common presentation to the emergency department.
