Primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) is a form of motor neurone disease (MND).
Clinical presentation
Diagnosis
The diagnosis is clinical, after exclusion of structural, neurodegenerative and metabolic mimics.
Pathology
It is characterised by a slowly progressive upper motor neurone syndrome.
Radiographic features
MRI
MRI shows prominent precentral gyrus atrophy and T2/FLAIR hyperintensity in the corticospinal tracts in the brain and spinal cord 3.
