Schimmelpenning syndrome is a rare and variable congenital multisystem condition characterised by extensive linear sebaceous naevi and multisystem neuroectodermal abnormalities. It is an epidermal naevus syndrome (ENS).
Clinical presentation
Classical triad including sebaceous naevi, seizures, and intellectual disability.
History and etymology
Gustav (Wilhelm) Schimmelpenning (1928-2009) 2 a German psychiatrist, described the condition in 1957.
