The patient suffered a metal pole crush injury of the left 1^st digit and sustained the phalangeal tuft fracture. There is a history of previous work-related trauma and surgical amputation of the 5^th digit, middle and distal phalanx.

There is a typical benign, turret exostosis involving the basal medial cortex of the 1^st terminal phalanx.

In view of the clinical confirmation of chronic pain and limitation of motion involving the 1^st metatarsal phalangeal articulation, radiological features suggest developing hallux rigidus.
