Seminal vesicle cyst

Discussion:

Seminal vesicle cysts can be congenital (due to ejaculatory duct atresia and obstruction - often unilateral as in this case) or acquired (due to obstruction, for example as a result of scarring, chronic inflammation, prior surgery, benign prostatic hypertrophy - often bilateral).

As this was an incidental finding, it is not known whether the patient had symptoms. Symptoms of seminal vesicle cysts include perineal pain, infertility, and haematuria.

The findings overlap with Zinner syndrome, which causes renal agenesis.
