Thickening of the flexor tendon sheath and tendon specially at the level of third finger mid diaphysis of proximal phalanx and the A1 pulley is seen, which causes stenosing tenosynovitis of the flexor tendon.
Case Discussion
Stenosing tenosynovitis is a condition commonly known as trigger finger. The tendon that flexes the finger glides easily with the help of pulleys that hold the tendon close to the bone. Trigger finger occurs when the pulley becomes thickened and the tendon cannot glide easily through of it.
