MRI - One mth later post re...
Given its location, patient demographics, and presentation and imaging findings, what would be a reasonable differential diagnosis for this mass?
A reasonable differential diagnosis would include a pineoblastoma, other intracranial germ cell tumours, and a central neurocytoma.
Ependymomas are rare, making up about 5% of adult intracranial gliomas with between 60-70% of them being infratentorial. Associated cystic component is much common in which location among supratentorial, infratentorial or spinal cord ependymomas?
Supratentorial ependymoma is associated with a greater percentage of cystic component, which could also be useful in establishing a reasonable differential diagnosis.
