Benign enlargement of the subarachnoid space in infancy

Widening of bi-frontal and anterior interhemispheric CSF spaces which measures about 0.8 cm without flattening of adjacent gyri. There are normal sulci posteriorly. The ventricles are not dilated. The anterior fontanelle is enlarged. The cortical veins are seen adjacent to the inner table of calvarium.
Case Discussion
Benign enlargement of the subarachnoid space in infancy is benign enlargement of the subarachnoid space in infants usually involving the frontal region. The condition resolves spontaneously by the age of 2 years; although the macrocephaly may persist.
