The long head of the biceps tendon in the bicipital groove is absent. The proximal biceps tendon is hypoechoic and edematous; a small amount of fluid is in the tendon sheath. The rest of the biceps tendon and the rotator cuff is normal

Case Discussion

The patient lifted a heavy object during exercise.  During the examination, pain and "Popeye -arm" suggested biceps tendon tear, which the ultrasound confirmed. The torn biceps tendon was repaired surgically.
