Known Fanconi anemia, planned bone marrow transplantation.
Patient Data

Several right-sided fused ribs of the mid chest.
Normal rib number bilaterally.
Right-sided Hickman line.









Fusion of the lateral aspects of the right 5th, 6th and 7th ribs.
Evidence of esophageal dilatation and small size hiatal hernia.
He has a history of operated tracheo-esophageal atresia at birth.
Case Discussion
Fanconi anemia is an autosomal recessive disease associated with congenital abnormalities (e.g. congenital fused ribs and tracheo-esophageal fistula).
Congenital fused ribs also known as rib synostosis can be unilateral or bilateral and two or more ribs are fused.
