Corpus callosum agenesis with hemispheric sulci reaching the roof of the third ventricle giving a "sunray" appearance in the midsagittal plane.
The lateral ventricle bodies are widely spaced with parallel orientation and narrow frontal horns giving "racing car" sign.
Narrowed frontal horns with colpocephaly (dilatation of the trigones and occipital horns) giving "moose head" or "viking helmet" signs.
There is a tiny nonspecific hyperintense T2/ FLAIR focus in the right frontal lobe.
Case Discussion
Dysgenesis of the corpus callosum is a cerebral malformation classified as complete agenesis or partial agenesis.
Isolated partial dysgenesis of the corpus callosum usually presents with no symptoms. In other circumstances, the underlying anatomical anomalies that are commonly discovered determine the clinical presentation, particularly in agenesis.
