Presentation
The patient complains of mental retardation, epilepsy, and decrease concentration.
Patient Data

Markedly prominent cerebellar folia and decreased volume of both cerebellar hemispheres as well as small vermis denoting cerebellar atrophy. Consequent prominent size of the 4th ventricle and retrocerebellar cistern.
Few scattered white matter foci of high signal on flair and T2 the more prominent one seen within the left frontal white matter. No mass effect, perifocal oedema, diffusion restriction or blooming.
Case Discussion
MRI findings are consistent with diffuse cerebellar atrophy. Many causes are incriminated in cerebellar atrophy among them is chronic drug use (e.g. Phenytoin). Differential diagnosis of diffuse cerebellar atrophy includes cerebellar hypoplasia and mega cisterna magna.
