Diffuse heterogeneous opacification of the left lung suspicious for multilobar pneumonia.

Blunting of left costophrenic angle suspicious for small pleural effusion.

Case Discussion

This represents a case of multi-lobar pneumonia. The patient presented with an acute onset constellation of symptoms, including fever, chills, chest pain, and shortness of breath. A chest x-ray was obtained, which confirmed widespread patchy left lung consolidation and air bronchograms. Sputum culture analysis revealed Streptococcus pneumonia.
