Presentation
Facial trauma 2 weeks ago. Presents with nasal obstruction.
Patient Data

Findings are consistent with nasal septal hematoma. Note the presence of high-density material located in the fractured cartilaginous portion of the nasal septum which obstructs both nasal valves.
Case Discussion
The Kiesselbach's area or Little's area is a region in the anteroinferior third of the nasal septum that contains the Kiesselbach's plexus.
The anterior portion of the nasal septum is composed of a cartilaginous plate with an adhered perichondrium and mucosa.
When the cartilage is fractured, blood can form bilateral hematomas collecting between the perichondrium and the septal cartilage.
