Known sickle cell disease, presented with acute severe left hypochondrial pain.

Splenomegaly with persistent hypodense non-enhancing thin rim around edge of spleen.
No typical wedge-shaped defects of the more commonly seen splenic infarcts in sickle cell patients.
Case Discussion
Triphasic computed tomography scan shows splenomegaly with persistent subcapsular hypodense non-enhancing thin rim. No typical wedge-shaped defects of the more commonly seen splenic infarcts in sickle cell patients. The findings are consistent with perisplenitis.
