There is an acute PCL avulsion fracture at the posteromedian articular surface of the upper tibia. The avulsed fracture fragment is displaced superiorly.
Large joint effusion also is present.
Case Discussion
Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) avulsion fracture is a type of knee avulsion fracture that represent the most common isolated PCL lesion. This typically involves the separation of the posterior tibial insertion of the PCL to variable degrees.
