Splenic cleft from diaphragmatic slip

No traumatic injury. Small cleft on the lateral margin of the spleen is adjacent to a small diaphragmatic slip.
Case Discussion
Splenic clefts are well known to mimic a traumatic splenic laceration, but in this case is due to a small diaphragmatic slip. Alternatively clefts are more often due to the embryological development of the spleen as adjacent splenic buds (lobules) fail to completely fuse.
