Deep cerebral vein thrombosis

Discussion:

Hypercoagulable state is a recognized predisposing factor for venous thrombosis, so postpartum period is likely to be a predisposing factor in this case. Deep cerebral vein thrombosis is usually associated with changes of basal ganglia such as edema, venous infarction and hemorrhage.  CT venogram is most sensitive and the thrombus appears as filling defects in the veins involved.
