Horseshoe kidney is one form of several congenital renal anomalies. It is often an incidental finding.

Its appearance is classic on CT and confirmatory tests are not necessary.

An increased incidence of urolithiasis, injury in trauma and obstruction is associated with horseshoe kidney.
