In 30 degree flexed knee:

  • Insall-Salvati index: normal mean is 1; ratio >1.2 is diagnostic of patella alta and <0.8 is diagnostic of patella baja.
  • modified Insall-Salvati index: normal mean of 1.25; ratio >2 is diagnostic of patella alta
