What complications is this patient at risk of?
Patients with lung abscesses can be at risk of developing empyema, bronchopleural fistula or haemorrhage. There is a high mortality associated with such cases and all lung abscesses merit respiratory expert care and prolonged antibiotics.
Reduction in fluid component but widespread residual consolidation in right lung.
Small volume of pleural fluid in right upper and mid-zones.
