Differential diagnoses:

• acute cerebral hyperemia
• posterior circulation stroke
• metabolic derangements, including hypoglycemia
• progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML)

Clinical presentation

• headaches, seizures, altered mental status
• elevated blood pressure is not a constant finding, especially in children
