The MRI sequences demonstrate;
- an abnormal width of the lateral meniscus (27 mm) on coronal sequences, which is visible on more than three images on sagittal sequences with an abnormal thickened bow tie appearance
- anterior parameniscal cyst is noted, protruding into Hoffa's fat pad well-visualised on sagittal and axial PD fat sat with an abnormal intrinsic high signal (degeneration) with a horizontal tear of the anterior horn
- small knee joint effusion
- normal appearance of the medial meniscus, cruciate and collateral ligaments
