What is a pseudoaneurysm?
A pseudoaneurysm appears when blood extravasates through a tear in the arterial wall and a pseudocapsule of compressed surrounding soft tissues contains it.
What are the expected Doppler findings of a pseudoaneurysm?
Color Doppler demonstrate the filling of a cystic structure, with yin-yang sign. Spectral Doppler tracings demonstrate distorted, turbulent, pulsatile waveform within the pseudoaneurysm and “to-and-fro” blood flow at the neck.
B mode & Doppler US 1 mth after the biopsy
B mode and color Doppler images shows an anechoic round structure without flow within it, corresponding to the thrombosed pseudoaneurysm.
