Maxillary sinus mucocele

Discussion:

Maxillary sinus mucocele is the least common location of all the paranasal sinus mucoceles.

It is believed that maxillary sinus mucoceles form due to the obstruction of sinus ostia, leading to the accumulation of fluid within a mucoperiosteal-lined cavity. This gradual enlargement of the maxillary sinus results in erosion and remodeling of the surrounding bone.
