Psoas abscess can occur in immunocompromised patients like diabetic patients and can be due to direct spread of infection or due to hematogenous spread of infection.

Pneumorrhachis, which means air within the epidural space, does not necessarily indicate an epidural abscess formation. Air within the epidural space can be occasionally encountered, suggesting a potential connection between the epidural space and paraspinal spaces, like in cases with subcutaneous emphysema, eventually, air would be absorbed by the venous plexus around the dura.
