Plantar fibromatosis

Discussion:

Plantar fibromatosis is one of the common lesions of the sole. By ultrasound, it usually appears as oblong or fusiform-shaped nodules with an isoechoic or hypoechoic texture that may show an inhomogeneous structure with few echogenic septa. Some of the lesions may show internal vascularity. The classic-appearing nodules are well-circumscribed, while larger ones may acquire aggressive features such as indistinct margins and deeper extension.
