Symmetrical high FLAIR signal, affecting the lateral putamen, the external capsule, and claustrum on both sides as well as the pons and mesencephalon, primarily suspicious of acute hyperammonemic encephalopathy in acute liver failure, but without evidence of chronic hepatic leukoencephalopathy.
