This condition can lead to serious complications such as mesenteric ischemia and bowel infarction, which can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

The patient entered the operating room where they performed a resection of a long segment of the small intestine. They also gave him anticoagulant treatment. To this day, the patient is clinically well.
