MRI
Compared to primary CNS lymphoma, which patient age and gender are more commonly affected by dural lymphoma?
Middle aged females rather than older males in primary CNS lymphoma.
What is the most frequent histology in primary dural lymphoma?
Marginal zone B-cell lymphoma.
What accounts for the hyperdensity of the mass seen on CT?
Hypercellularity of the tumor.
MR of the brain demonstrates a lens shaped extra-axial mass overlying the left frontal operculum. the mass is iso to slightly hypointense on T1WI and iso to slightly hyperintense on T2WI with respect to the grey matter. The mass displays mild diffusion restriction and thick homogeneous enhancement. The pachymeningeal enhancement extends medially to the falx and contralateral frontal convexity, seen best on coronal T1 C+. There is also a separate region of smooth pachymeningeal enhancement along the right tentorial leaflet.
