Retroperitoneal hemorrhage and multiple bilateral renal angiomyolipomas

Discussion:

This young man presented with a limited history due to intellectual impairment and suspected tuberous sclerosis. Haemodynamically-stable but in view of the suspected large pseudoaneurysm of the right upper renal pole, the decision was made to proceed to angioembolisation. He underwent successful embolization of the pseudoaneurysm with coils and a second large angiomyolipoma in the right lower pole was also selectively embolized with a 1:1 ethanol-Lipiodol mix and a coil.
