Histopathology
Microscopic: biopsy shows fragments of colonic mucosa with regenerative changes along with ulcerated fragments of invasive squamous cell carcinoma. The tumour cells are positive for p40 immunostain while being negative for CDX-2, supporting the diagnosis.
