CT - CT Brain (presentation)
What differentials you entertain?
The differentials are those of a ring-enhancing cerebellar mass lesion in an adult patient. Metastatic disease should be sought as the most likely due to its prevalence compared to other tumors. If this patient is unwell with sepsis or has a history of IVDU, abscess will figure as a differential. A primary brain tumour, in particular haemangioblastoma, would be a reasonable differential for this patient.
There is a well defined solid mass within the region of the cerebellar vermis that is characterised by a thick hyperdense rim and a central hypodense component. Associated vasogenic oedema and mass effect noted over the fourth ventricle. No hydrocephalus. No other brain lesions identified.
