The patient showed altered liver function tests in the form of elevated alanine aminotransferase and bilirubin levels.

Serology was positive for cytomegalovirus and rest of the hepatitis viral markers were negative.

The patient was treated for acute infective viral hepatitis and discharged on clinical improvement.
