CD34

CD34 or haematopoietic progenitor cell antigen CD34 is an intercellular adhesion protein and cell surface glycoprotein and a frequently used marker of haematopoietic progenitor cells and endothelial cells. It is also expressed by many other non-haematopoietic cell types including multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells, interstitial dendritic cells and epithelial progenitors 1.

Usage

It serves as a target in immunohistochemistry where it can be used for the determination of vascularisation of tumours and disease processes and the differentiation of different tumours as:
