The hypothenar eminence is the muscular bulge on the ulnar side of the palm of the hand due to the hypothenar muscles. Together the muscle group primarily acts on the little finger. The three muscles are:
The small insignificant palmaris brevis muscle is sometimes described as a muscle of the hypothenar group, but as it lies superficial to the hypothenar muscles and does not act on the little finger it should be considered separate to this muscle group.
