"HOT Pepper" is a mnemonic to recall the persistent communications between the anterior (carotid) and posterior (vertebrobasilar) systems. KnowledgeKnowledge of these anatomical variants is important to avoid confusion with pathology and to prevent inadvertent trauma during surgery.
