C4/5, C5/6 and C6/7 anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) with zero-profile devices with integrated bone graft chamber has been performed. Good alignment.
Case Discussion
A "zero-profile” device refers to an implant designed to sit flush with the anterior vertebral column without protruding into surrounding tissues, eliminating the need for traditional anterior plating systems. This has been shown to have similar fusion rates, but improved rates of dysphagia. It is also believed that zero-profile devices with anchored cages transmit less stress to adjacent segments thereby reducing adjacent segment degeneration 1.
